1969 Top 10 Highest-Grossing & Award Winning Films

“This has always been a great western film. I love the banter between Robert Redford and Paul Newman. I wish more movies with both of them together were available. The location this film was shot in looks like Moab or the Grand Canyon area…BEAUTIFUL! I remember my dad singing Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head when I was a child and I loved this song. I would watch again on a lazy afternoon.”

#19 Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
Left a good job in the city
Workin’ for the man ev’ry night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleepin’
Worryin’ ’bout the way things might have been๐Ÿช„
Big wheel keep on turnin’
Proud Mary keep on burnin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river๐Ÿช„
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis
Pumped a lot of ‘pane down in New Orleans
But I never saw the good side of the city
‘Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen๐Ÿช„
Big wheel keep on turnin’
Proud Mary keep on burnin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river๐Ÿช„
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river๐Ÿช„
If you come down to the river
Bet you gonna find some people who live
You don’t have to worry ’cause you have no money
People on the river are happy to give๐Ÿช„
Big wheel keep on turnin’
Proud Mary keep on burnin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river๐Ÿช„
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river

Eminent Domain: Whose Home Is It, Anyways?

“Your home is your home only when you feel you have jurisdiction over the space.”

Joan Kron (Film Producer)

“A home’s tranquility always comes from within no matter what the circumstances. The space one’s soul requires cannot be measured in inches, feet or dollars.”

“Where we are in our lives and our relationship with others must take precedence over our decorating choices. Sometimes what we want just isn’t practical or right for us now. …These are not so much questions of lifestyle as of life passages…An honest home that rings true to the lives of the people who occupy it will always be disarmingly refreshing to visitors.”

Alexandra Stoddard (Author & Interior Designer; November 8th, 1941)

“My home is my sanctuary and I keep it organized so it doesn’t take up space cluttering my mind.”

#18 Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby๐Ÿช„
Why can’t you see
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?๐Ÿช„
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds (with suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds๐Ÿช„
So, if an old friend I know
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?๐Ÿช„
Here we go again
Asking where I’ve been
You can’t see the tears are real, I’m crying
(Yes, I’m crying)๐Ÿช„
We can’t go on together
With suspicious minds (suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds๐Ÿช„
Oh, let our love survive
I’ll dry the tears from your eyes
Let’s don’t let a good thing die
When, honey, you know I have never lied to you, mm
(Yeah, yeah)๐Ÿช„
We’re caught in a trap
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby๐Ÿช„
Why can’t you see
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?๐Ÿช„
Don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby๐Ÿช„
Well, don’t you know I’m caught in a trap?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby

The Personality of Your Home

“A house is who you are, not who you ought to be.”

Jill Robinson (American Novelist, Essayist, and Teacher; May 30th, 1936 to July 20th, 2024)

“You will express yourself in your house whether you want to or not.”

Elsie de Wolfe (American Actress; December 20th, 1865 to July 12th, 1950)

“When we do, the principles of gratitude, simplicity, and order will begin to transform the places where we live into hallowed havens of comfort and contentment—with or without the new slipcovers.”

“Today, no matter where or how you live, look upon your home through the eyes of Love. Walk around the rooms and offer thanks for the walls and roof that safely enclose you and yours. Pause for a moment to consider all the women who have lost their homes through death, divorce, debt, or disaster. Be grateful for the home you have, knowing that, at this moment, all you have is all you truly need.”

“My home is my husband, so where ever we hang our hats is home. I prefer to live in a way where all the spaces are lived in an used. Having a formal dining room, etc. does not interest me as most of us know that room is rarely used and we often find our selves eating in the kitchen or at the daily dining table.”

#17 Grazing In The Grass (The Friends Of Distinction) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
It sure is mellow grazin’ in the grass
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)
What a trip just watchin’ as the world goes past
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)๐Ÿช„
There are so many good things to see
While grazin’ in the grass
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)
Flowers with colours for takin’๐Ÿช„
Everything outta sight in the grass
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)
The sun beaming down between the leaves
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)๐Ÿช„
And the bir-ir-ir-irds dartin’ in and out of the trees
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)
Everything here is so clear, you can see it
And everything here is so real, you can feel it๐Ÿช„
And it’s real, so real, so real, so real, so real, so real
Can you dig it
Whooo-oooh
I can dig it, he can dig it๐Ÿช„
She can dig it, we can dig it
They can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let’s dig it
Can you dig it, baby๐Ÿช„
I can dig it, he can dig it
She can dig it, we can dig it
They can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let’s dig it๐Ÿช„
Can you dig it, baby๐Ÿช„
The sun beaming down between the leaves
(Grazin’ in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it)
