#20 Dance To The Music (Sly & The Family Stone) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
Sing, get on up and dance to the music
Get on up and dance to the music๐Ÿช„
Dance to the Music, dance to the music
Dance to the Music, dance to the music๐Ÿช„
All we need is a drummer
For people who only need a beat, yeah
I’m gonna add a little guitar
And make it easy to move your feet๐Ÿช„
I’m gonna add some bottom
So that the dancers just won’t hide๐Ÿช„
You might like to hear my organ
I said ride Sally ride, now
(Cynthia, what? Gerry, what?)
If I could hear the horns blow
Cynthia on the throne, yeah๐Ÿช„
Listen to me
Cynthia and Jerry got a message that’s sayin’
All the squares, go home, yeah-yeah๐Ÿช„
Listen to the voices๐Ÿช„
Dance to the Music, dance to the music
Dance to the Music, dance to the music

The World Is Too Much With US

“What I mean by living to one’s self is living in the world, as in it, not of it.”

William Hazlitt (English Essayist, Drama and Literary Critic, Painter, Social Commentator, and Philosopher; April 10th, 1778 ~ September 18th, 1830)

“The world is too much with us…Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers.”

William Wordsworth (English Romantic Poet; April 7th, 1770 ~ April 23rd, 1850)

“…despite all the doom and gloom that constantly assaults our senses, there is a way for us to ransom our lives and reclaim our futures: it consists in truning away from the world to recognize what in life makes us truly happy…But once we obtain this inner knowledge, we will possess the ability to transform our outer world.”

“You can live a lifetime and, at the end of it, know more about other people than you know abut yourself.”

Beryl Markham (English-born Kenyan Aviator, Adventurer, Racehorse Trainer and Author; October 26th, 1902 ~ August 3rd, 1986)

“Wean yourself away from the opinions of others—however talented, creative, and celebrated they may be—as you continue to journey within. Absorb the shock of becoming aware that many of your preferences and opinions are not truly your own. BEgin, instead, to listen for the whisper of your authentic self telling you which way to go. We are always being shown the next steps of our uniquely personal journey.”

“Only when the clamor of the outside world is silenced will you be able to hear the Deeper Vibration. Listen carefully. Spirit’s playing your song.”

Eagle Sighting 2-5-26

February 5th, 2026 @ 7:45AM

Bald Eagle, photo by Mick Thompson

Driving to work at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Jackson Street, I spotted a beautiful bald eagle circling a couple apartment buildings in South King Street area. It was originally perched on one of the building about a block from where I was sitting at a stoplight. Suddenly, it dropped off the building and began catching the updrafts in a circle around this area. ๐Ÿฆ…

#19 Midnight Confessions (The Grass Roots) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
The sound of your footsteps
Tell me that you’re near
Your soft gentle motion, babe
Brings out a need in me that nobody hears, except๐Ÿช„
In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you๐Ÿช„
There’s a little gold ring you wear on your hand
Makes me understand
There’s another before me, you’ll never be mine
I’m wastin’ my time๐Ÿช„
Staggering through the daytime
Your image on my mind
I’m passing so close beside you, baby
‘Cause sometimes the feelings are so hard to hide, but๐Ÿช„
In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you๐Ÿช„
There’s a little gold ring you wear on your hand
Makes me understand
There’s another before me, you’ll never be mine
I’m wastin’ my time๐Ÿช„
In my midnight confession
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to๐Ÿช„
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

The Authentic Self Is The Soul Made Visible

“My business is not to remake myself,

But make the absolute best of what God made.”

Robert Browning (English Poet and Playwright; May 7th, 1812 ~ December 12th, 1889)

“Making the absolute best of ourselves is not an easy task. It is a pleasurable pursuit, it is the reason we were born, but it requires patience, persistence, and perseverance.”

“…someone has to trun on the switch. Asking is the way of activating spiritual electricity. When there is Light we see remarkably well. We see with clarity. And what we can see if we look deep within is that the authentic self is the Soul made visible.”

“Do not try to remake yourself into something you’re not. Just try making the best of what God made. The sacred art and craft of nurturing our souls of those we love is Simple Abundance soulcraft. Begin today by turning on the Light.”

“T.G.I.F. I love Fridays! It means I get to spend several uninterrupted days with the love of my life. For me that is heaven, peace, love and bliss. Tick tock…almost time to get myself home.” (Heather Houston 2-4-22)

“I am very aware that I have access to the Flow of the universe and have turned on the light switch. I have come to understand in the past I was only haphazardly turning this on when I was competing or needed to preform. Now I see I have access whenever I want. When I do, my husband sees me as the sexy, hot fun chic. I like that. She is here and I am SHE!” (Heather Houston 2-4-26)

#18 Grazing In The Grass (Hugh Masekela) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lyrics:
Sure is mellow grazin’ in the grass (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)
What a trip just watchin’ as the world goes past (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)
There are too many groovy things to see while grazin’ in the grass (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)
Flowers with colours for takin’, everything outta sight (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)๐Ÿช„
The sun peekin’ out between the leaves (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)
And the bir-ir-ir-irds dartin’ in and out of the trees (grazin’ in the grass, yes, baby, can you dig it?)๐Ÿช„
Everything here is so clear, you can see it
And everything here is so real, you can feel it
And it’s real, so real, so real, so real, so real, so real
Can you dig it?๐Ÿช„
I can dig it, he can dig it, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let’s dig it. Can you dig it, baby?
I can dig it, he can dig it, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let’s dig it. Can you dig it, baby?๐Ÿช„
