“Not a great film. Pretty dated and songs were highlighting vaudeville in a way that did not make Julie Andrews appear as a ‘Star’.”
“Cliff Robertson actually did a very good job at playing both parts of himself in this film. Even the future predictions he made for 2018 were mostly correct from the writer’s ideas in 1968. Maybe sometimes ignorance IS bliss.”
“I had never seen this film and thought it was not my favorite Shakespeare. Quite dumb that Juliet agrees to take a paralyzing formula from the creepy friar. Then Romeo is left out of th loop and then poisons himself. Juliet wakes up to find him dead and then stabs herself. Quite impulsive and typical of young minds not fully cooled.”
“I had never seen this film and thought it was quite good. It was amazing the access the film crew had to the Vatican to film this film. Anthony Quin was great as the Pope. The push and pull of creation vs. evolution was front and center.”
“One of the better Steve McQueen movies. I love that he always incorporates stunts he actually does…the glider flying and dune buggy were great. I loved Faye Dunaway as a strong powerful beautiful woman even when the misogyny in the film was horrendous.”

“I had never seen this film. It was fascinating how they intertwined Rachel’s fantasies into her daily muddling. At 35 years old and a virgin in more ways than one, to be taken advantage of by several men and woman in the film…one for sex..one for companionship and a woman for love. I would consider watching again so I could glean more of the whole story. I think the acting was spot on.”
“This was like watching a real princes of England show today. All the relationship twists and back-stabbing to boot. Fun to see Peter O’Toole and Katharine Hepburn acting with one another. Good timeless flick.”
“I enjoyed watching this film and I had not seen this since I was a young child. Amazing how many songs I remembered. I even remember soliciting my cousins to replicate the carriage scene with the young pickpockets for Nancy. A memory I had totally forgotten. Nice to see again and this one is put to bed.”
